Penn Dental Medicine at Woods

Often, people with cognitive, developmental, or physical disabilities have trouble finding a dental team willing and able to meet their needs. That puts more than their teeth at risk: Oral health problems have been shown to increase the risk of heart disease, respiratory infections, diabetes, and more.

What to Expect

If this is your first visit to Penn Dental Medicine at Woods, your dentist will begin with a comprehensive evaluation. This means that you will meet with your doctor and receive an oral examination as well as any necessary x-rays or radiographs. Your dentist will also ask you about any pain, discomfort, or concerns you have and address those during this appointment.

If you have any records, X-rays, or radiographs from your previous dentist from the past five years, you should bring those with you. Both printed and digital formats are fine.

You will receive an automated telephone message two days in advance to remind you of the scheduled appointment for your first visit.
