- Identifying challenging behaviors’ underlying causes and establishing positive alternatives.

GET ANSWERS
Autism Assessment and Treatment
Our commitment to comprehensive behavioral health can include autism assessment and diagnosis. Accurate diagnosis opens the door to a world of interventions and treatments. As a result, clients can improve social and communication skills and reduce frustration and difficult behaviors.
Our experts assess and diagnose people from one year of age to adulthood, make treatment recommendations, and help you navigate the treatment journey.
Make an appointment to start the assessment process.
Our clinical team will meet with you to discuss the individual’s history and any emotional, social, or behavioral concerns. We will gather observational data from multiple sources to get the most accurate picture of how the individual manages and navigates a variety of settings.
Come in for observation and assessment.
One of our trained professionals meets with the individual in a sensory-friendly, low-stress environment to gauge their abilities in situations that often mimic day-to-day experiences. We use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (ADOS-2), an assessment tool widely regarded as the gold standard, suitable for people of all ages, developmental levels, and language disabilities.
We will develop individualized treatment recommendations.
After evaluation, the clinician will meet with you to thoroughly explain all the information and discuss evidence-based treatment recommendations. Our clinicians will offer follow-up visits and provide referrals as needed.

Assessment practices
We Use Standard Measures
In addition to formally evaluating autism spectrum disorder, we assess the possibility of accompanying intellectual or language impairment. We use standardized measures to evaluate these nuanced skills for all individuals, regardless of age and language ability.

Our Partnership with Penn Medicine
Because many traditional dental offices present physical and sensory barriers to people with disabilities, Woods has partnered with the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine—one of the leading dental schools in the United States—to provide access to dentists for kids with autism and other special needs, and for adults with disabilities. Patients receive premier dental treatment from a staff of professionals specifically trained to care for people with physical, cognitive, or developmental disabilities.
